kick-start circuit series: rotation two

day two rotation of circuit seriesHello all!  It is day two of my Circuit Series!  (If you missed day one, find it here!)  I completed the second rotation this morning in under nine minutes and burnt about 40 calories (keep in mind that every body is different and this is just an estimate based off of how I performed*).

Some tips and tricks for this rotation:

♦ Make sure your high knees are really high knees–I am talking 90° people!

♦ One side lunge right and one side lunge left counts as ONE rep.

♦ Sit-Ups require you to sit up–all the way.

♦ When I do inner thigh scissors, I like to flex my feet on the way up and point them on the way down.  This may just be my inner ballerina coming out though and does not really matter.

After completing this three times, I made my way downstairs to have some breakfast.  You guessed it!  I had some tea and a fruit bowl consisting of: one diced kiwi, one cup of diced pineapple, and four quartered  organic strawberries.  Mmmm….

I picked all of this up yesterday at the grocery store.  Before you ask, yes, I am one of those weird people that enjoys going grocery shopping.  There is just something so peaceful and fun walking around the produce department with just your thoughts surrounded by colorful fruits and veggies.  I have to admit, I miss going shopping at Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Market, but they are too far of a drive back here in Houston for me, compared with the two minute drive I had in Fort Collins.  Jessi and I used to go to Whole Foods and Sprouts frequently together; she enjoyed grocery shopping just as much as I do, and that is saying A LOT.  You do not need one of these health foods stores to eat healthy however, they just make it more convenient and offer a wider variety.  My trip yesterday was just to H-E-B, a local Texas grocery store.  They have a wide selection of produce, both local and organic, and you can find some pretty exotic produce as well.  They have also really expanded their health food department, which I was pretty excited about.  Here are some of the goodies I picked up…grocery store goodies produce

I hope you all have a splendid rest of your day!  I just got back from a walk/jog with one of my dogs, so it is a GREAT day for me.
